Our party of six completed an incredible 12 day/11 night Patagonian adventure curated by Carrie Maclean at Venture Patagonia. By way of background, we are all in our mid-to-late fifties and were in search of an active, private, multi-sport adventure that would test us (but not break us!) by day yet allow us to sleep comfortably at night. We considered three other outfitters but ultimately opted for Venture Patagonia since we strongly preferred a company with local presence and knowledge. Carrie helped us customize an itinerary that included horseback riding in an estancia, kayaking, glacier trekking, whitewater rafting and two spectacular hikes (Base of the Towers in Torres del Paine National Park and Laguna de Los Tres in Los Glaciares National Park). As we refined the itinerary, she worked to minimize hotel transfers, create some room for contingencies (never know about the weather) and incorporate time for recovery from our long hikes...all much appreciated! During the trip itself, transfers were smooth as we progressed through our itinerary and Carrie was easily reachable through WhatsApp to help answer questions and confirm activities/reservations for the following day. She was also extremely helpful in setting up airport transfers coming in from Santiago and heading out through Buenos Aires. Simply put, we had a blast and credit Carrie and the team at Venture Patagonia for helping us to experience the beauty of the area in so many different ways. If you’re looking for a locally- based outfitter to help you and your travel party get the most out of your time in Chilean/Argentinian Patagonia, give Carrie a hoot, you’ll be in good hands.
