Ted's South American Expedition
Last year I started planning a major six-week expedition through the southern half of South America, in Chile and Argentina. A friend of a friend told me about Carrie and Venture Patagonia. Working with them was the best decision I made on this whole adventure. When you travel to a remote place with a different language you need a partner. Venture is the perfect partner. My plan was to meet some college buddies in Santiago, rent a truck and drive to the southern end of South America - and back. The complexity of this trip cannot be exaggerated. There were multiple border crossings, vehicles picked up and dropped off in various cities, air flights to be coordinated, and a total of 18 stay overs. Carrie and Daniella found the coolest places to stay, the absolutely best guides and activities. In the middle of the expedition there was a major snafu that could not have been expected, and they jumped in to resolve it immediately, getting alternative accommodations, changing vehicles, booking new flights, etc. They were amazing. Carrie also has access to one of the best things we did on our whole trip - visiting and staying on the Estancia La Peninsula on the Fjord of Last Hope near Puerto Natales. It was amazing. It should be noted that Venture, not only knows Patagonia, but the entire countries of Chile and Argentina, which was essential because only half our trip was in Patagonia.
